The real problem

You are not broken. You are carrying too much.

You have spent years being strong for everyone else. Managing the career, the family, the body that keeps changing without your permission. And now something broke through. A diagnosis, a failure, a moment that made the weight impossible to ignore.

You are not looking for someone to fix you. You are looking for a space where you do not have to perform wellness to receive it. Where you can stop translating your life for someone who does not understand it, and start actually getting help.

No-Translation Therapy

Jennifer already speaks your language, knows your world, and meets you where you are. She learns her clients' references, watches their shows, follows their sports, understands the cultural context they live in. You skip the part where you teach your therapist what code-switching is before you can talk about how tired you are of doing it.

What I work with

  • Perimenopause and hormonal transitions

The mood shifts, the brain fog, the grief. These are not just hormones. They deserve real therapeutic attention.

  • Autoimmune conditions

Living with a chronic condition no one can see. The exhaustion of explaining, the anxiety of flares, the frustration of a medical system that moves too slowly.

  • Trauma and racialized stress

Not always a single event. Sometimes it is the weight of navigating systems that were not built for you, compounded over years.

  • Perfectionism and imposter syndrome

The voice that says you have to outwork everyone to deserve your place. We work on quieting that voice without losing your drive.

  • Depression and high-functioning anxiety

Getting through the day does not mean you are fine. We address what is underneath the performance.

Approaches

Somatic interventions, trauma-informed CPT, CBT, and culturally competent, strengths-based care.

Questions you might have

Do you accept insurance?

I do not bill insurance directly. I provide superbills so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement with your provider. Sliding scale is also available.

What if I'm not sure therapy is right for me?

That is exactly what the free consultation is for. Fifteen minutes, no commitment. If I am not the right fit, I will help you find someone who is.

What does a first session look like?

We start where you are. There is no script. We talk about what brought you in and what you want to feel different. You set the pace.

Is this only for Black women?

My practice is rooted in culturally responsive care for Black women and women of color, but I welcome anyone who resonates with this approach.

I've tried therapy before and it didn't help.

A lot of women I work with say that. Often it is because they spent the whole time educating the therapist instead of being helped. That is the gap this practice exists to close.

You have spent enough time being strong for everyone else. This is the part where someone is strong for you.

A note from Jennifer

I know what it is like to carry everything and make it look easy. To be the person everyone leans on and wonder who you are supposed to lean on.

You did not stop because you were fine. You stopped because you ran out of room to not be fine. And now something broke through. A diagnosis, a failure, a moment that made the weight impossible to ignore.

I built this practice for that moment. So you would have somewhere to go where you do not have to perform wellness to receive it. Where you are understood before you explain.

Progress is not about fixing what is broken. It is about making room for what is actually happening, and finding out you can hold it differently when you are not holding it alone.
